Cat.No.:IC-03174787

Product Information

Biological Activity

Taurochenodeoxycholic acid (12-Deoxycholyltaurine) is one of the main bioactive substances of animals'''' bile acid. Taurochenodeoxycholic acid induces apoptosis and shows obvious anti-inflammatory and immune regulation properties[1][2].
In Vivo Studies
Taurochenodeoxycholic acid (12-Deoxycholyltaurine; 0.05, 0.1 g/kg) reduced the lung coefficient in model mice and alleviated pathological lung damage; it decreased the expression levels of TNF-¦Á and TIMP-2 in the lung tissue of mice with pulmonary fibrosis, while showing no significant effect on MMP2 [2].
Taurochenodeoxycholic acid significantly normalized clinical inflammatory parameters, prevented the increase in secondary bile acid content and hydrophobicity index in bile induced by indomethacin, and exerted an alleviating effect on intestinal inflammation [3].
Taurochenodeoxycholic acid significantly inhibited paw swelling and the polyarthritis index, attenuated body weight loss, increased thymus and spleen indices, and improved radiological changes in AA rats. Excessive production and mRNA expression of TNF-¦Á, IL-1¦Â, and IL-6 in the serum and synovial tissue of all TCDCA-treated rats were significantly suppressed [4].

Animal A (mg/kg) = Animal B (mg/kg) multiplied by  (Animal B Km / Animal A Km)
For example, to modify the dose of resveratrol used for a mouse (22.4 mg/kg) to a dose based on the BSA for a rat, multiply 22.4 mg/kg by the Km factor for a mouse and then divide by the Km factor for a rat. This calculation results in a rat equivalent dose for resveratrol of 11.2 mg/kg.
